I am 38 years old and have decided to take control of my health and fitness I have 3 beautiful kids and a loving husband. I am now in my second year of running, this journey has been amazing. Something I have learned in the last year is that you can do anything that you put your mind to. The journey might not be easy and you might miss deadlines, but at the end of the day, it is the road there that is the most fun.
I started running with the intent to run the 2018 Comrades marathon, but I didn’t qualify, and very disappointed with not qualifying I just keep pushing and trying. We are now in 2019 and my dream to run the Comrades Marathon is still there, I still have not qualified, but I am closer than I was last year. But on this road to comrades, I have met the most amazing people, the running community is so supportive and kind. I am getting to know the runners and every race I run I see someone I have run with before.
There is a lot of wisdom on the road, and I am so blessed to have run with people that have been running for more than 20 years. Seeing what works and what doesn’t. I will keep running and hopefully, I will be the inspiration to a new runner in the future.
